We are responsible dog owners living in and around Palo Alto, CA.  We are just starting to get organized (May 2013).  There is no charge to join and all are welcome.

Our Primary Objective is to encourage the City of Palo Alto to provide good opportunities for dogs to exercise in Palo Alto.  We regard the current small dog runs in Greer, Hoover, and Mitchell parks to be fundamentally flawed and inadequate.  However, we want to retain these dog runs, as they are heavily utilized.

Many dog owners go to Nealon Park in Menlo Park, which is more like the facilities that our dogs need.  Nealon Park is a "time-shared" facility, and we support that concept.  Nealon Park is a fenced baseball field which is used for off-leash dogs from 8-10 am Monday through Friday.

There are a lot of dog owners in Palo Alto who are not complying with the city's Leash Law.  This is completely understandable, seeing as how the facilities for off-leash dogs are so inadequate.  We feel that it would be in the best interest of ALL Palo Altans, even those who are afraid of or unfriendly towards dogs, if there were improved, enclosed dog exercise facilities across and near our fine city.
